Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt, she placed in the top two in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. A year later Felix earned her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007, she won that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
